Gumtrees Villa
Gumtrees Villa is a spacious, modern holiday home in the relatively untouched region of Ogliastra, on the island of Sardinia. It offers guests an authentic Italian experience, whether it's relaxing on one of the beautiful sandy beaches or exploring the local olive groves and vineyards. We are sure you will love your stay at Gumtrees, so called after the Australian name for eucalyptus trees which are found on the property and throughout Sardinia.
The property has been designed with the sun in mind - cool in summer but well lit and bright in the winter months.
Location
Gumtrees is on the mid-East coast of Sardinia. The closest major town is Tortoli, which is 20 minutes by car. Nearby Tortoli is the port of Arbatax, which has a regular car-ferry service to Genoa.
Distance from Cagliari airport: 100km (approx 1 hour 45 minutes)
Distance from Olbia airport: 200km (approx 2 hours)
Distance from Alghero airport: 270km (approx 3 hours)
Accommodation
The villa has two levels, which can be rented as separate apartments or together as one house, depending on the number of guests. The top floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (2 x double and 1 room with two single beds). The ground floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom (1 x double and 1 room with two single beds). Babies' cots and additional single beds can be organised if required. Both apartments have a modern kitchen, large open-plan dining areas and access to a shared laundry. A garage is available for up to 4 cars at the rear of the Villa. Linen and bath towels are provided.
As we have a strong interest in being as eco-friendly as possible, the building has a number of features to try and minimise its impact on the environment - specifically good insulation all round, double glazed windows, solar heated water in both flats, rainwater supply for all the toilets and finally a 3kW solar electric plant on the roof.
Facilities
Kitchens are fully equipped with hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a complete range of cutlery, crockery and utensils.
Towels and bed linen are high quality cotton and all mattresses and pillows are high quality latex.
Shaded verandas outside with table and chairs and sunloungers.
Air conditioning is available in all the rooms although with the design of the building it should not be required too often.
Free wireless broadband available. TV, DVD player, stereo, boardgames, dartboard, books etc. Hairdryer
Both flats have a stereo with ipod headphone connector
